Ori Ron, cellist and composer, was born in 1998 in Jerusalem. Currently he is based in
Amsterdam and Tel Aviv. In September 2023 Ori started his Master’s degree in
Conservatorium van Amsterdam at the class of Pieter Wispelwey.
Began his cello studies at age 7 with ms. Hilla Epstein in Givatayim Conservatory, and in age
13 started to study with Prof. Hillel Zori. Ori studied in Thelma Yellin High School and
graduated from Buchmann Mehta School of Music, both in Bachelor degree (performance)
and Teaching diploma. He studied in Prof. Hillel Zori cello class.
Ori won 3rd prize at the Cello Biennale competition in Amsterdam in November 2024.
In the same competition he received an award for the best performance of the commissioned
piece, composed by Matthias Bartholomey. In 2019 he won 1st prize at the strings
competition of Buchmann Mehta School and in 2017 he won 3rd prize at the same
competition.
In 2021-2023 Ori played with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the Colton program.
Ori performed as a soloist with the Israel Chamber Orchestra in 2016 under the baton of Ariel
Zuckerman, with Tel Aviv Soloists in 2017 under the baton of Barak Tal and with the Jerusalem
Symphony Orchestra in 2018 under the baton of Guy Feder.
Ori is regularly performing in the Netherlands and he is part of ensembles and groups such as
Martin String quartet (1st prize at Gelre competition), Mondfleck Ensemble and the Rabbits
collective.
Ori participated in various programs of the Jerusalem Music Center, both orchestra and
chamber music. He took part in several residencies of the Perlman Music Program, Keshet
Eilon Mastercourse and Huberman Program. He also composes for the string quartet and he
performs his solo cello pieces in stages around the world.
Ori participated in masterclasses with top international artists such as Prof. Gary Hoffman,
Prof. Ralph Kirshbaum, Maestro Itzhak Perlman, Prof. Paul Katz, Prof. Ronald Leonad, and
more.
Ori played in Numerous chamber groups – string quartets, piano trios, piano quartets, string
octet and more. He was a member of the Gertler String Quartet- the official quartet of the
Buchmann Mehta School under guidance of Prof. Felix Nemirovsky.Ori Ron bla bla bla
